GOOD GROCERY VIBES

driving
to the store
a car passed me
on the right

then pulled
right in front
of me

and stopped

only then
did the driver
signal the intent
to turn left

leaving me
to wait
for a break
in traffic
either way
for an escape

normally
I would honk
and scream
profanities

for some
reason
I chose
to remain
silent

I listened
to the radio
looked about
the neighborhood
and felt the breeze
through the open
windows
on a beautiful
October day

honking
and screaming
would have been
pointless

the driver
ahead
was obviously
a few mutated genes
short
of sanity

like
yelling
at a tumbleweed
crossing my path
nothing
would have been
accomplished

when
a manner
of living
has been temporarilly
reached
where obstacles
fall lightly away
like leaves
in Autumn
it's best
to simply
enjoy

finally
the last
oncoming vehicle
cleared past us
and the precious
left turn
was taken

I continued
on my
way

we needed
yogurt
and bananas
