I am running
toward
a tall building

the front
of which
is all
glass

others
are running
to there
as well

they
are forming
lines
to enter

I arrive
in time
to be the forth
in my
queue

not bad

but just
as I come
to a stop
little Kim
from work
edges
from behind
to in front
of me

I look
down
at her
initially
aggravated

and before
I can smile
to allow
her intrusion
she sulks away
to the back
of another
group

always
slow
to make things
right
I want
to go after
her

to explain
that I didn’t
know
who she was
at first

but I don’t
want to lose
my place

I am looking
at a car

I don’t
recognize
the vehicle
but it must
be mine

because
I am aggravated
at the fact
that all three
passenger doors
are wide open

papers
and wrappers
blow about
in the breeze

I assume
that they came
from the fleeing
occupants

litterers
as well

now
I am mad

I hear myself
admonishing
the four girls
whom I had
be driving

cringing
at my own
anger

all of the
sudden
they are
back

just now
getting out
of the car

I tell
them calmly

quietly

to pick up
their trash

to close
their doors

happy
that I got
another chance
to get
this right
