Dad and I
are watching
football

on multiple
huge
TV screens

I notice
that we’re
bobbing

tilting
back
and forth

then look
around
to see
that we’re floating
upon a large
cushioned disk

outdoors

in flood
waters
flowing through
a city

“it’s a good thing
that this thing
floats

that we’re
staying
in the same
place”

but as
he says that
we begin
drifting
toward large
buildings

the lower
stories
submerged

I realize
that many people
must’ve drowned

as we begin
to near
bodies

gathering
toward us
in a turbulent
urban sea
