a woman
whom I do
not know
stands
in front
of me

we seem
to be
at work

“please
look inside
and get
the part number
for me”

I look
to where
she’s pointing
into a large
equipment
cabinet

I ask her
why she doesn’t
just look it up
on the computer

“because
the last time
the number there
was wrong”

makes sense

I guess

but why
doesn’t she
crawl inside
herself
I wonder

as I am
about
to ask her
Frank
walks up
to us

“tell them
I won’t be
at the meeting"

he says
to me

“I’ve got
to fix
the last two
boards”

I am in
a small room
crammed full
of folding
chairs

there is
someone
sitting
in each

the tech lead
stands
at the front

“where
the hell
is Frank?”

he wants
to know

I tell him
what Frank
told me

“are YOU
Frank?”

he is
not
pleased

know
what to say
