is not active
in society
he enjoys
watching others
participate

and while
he appreciates
realism
in its
many forms

he would
rather let
art describe
the more disturbing
details
of the films

preferring
obtuse
inferences

sidelong
allusions

shadowed
and veiled
images

of murder

rape

war

to complete
the less palatable
storylines

they happen

he just doesn't
need to see
every element
of the happenings

if Brother Bollocks
wanted
true reality

he would
step through
the door
of his cell

walk into
the world

and experience
such daily atrocities
himself

instead
he pulls
the blinds

averts
his eyes
to any possibility
of bloodshed

and feels
the need
to bathe
much less
often
