I missed them
back
in the day

a thin
slice
of sublimity

hidden within
a choking cake
of airplay
conformity

wonderful
music
that accompanies
my current
condition

I wonder
what else
that I might
have missed
so self-involved
in those
passing
presents

perhaps
a salvation
slipping by
unaware

for now
I’m happy
to find a few
serendipitous
songs

a little
mislaid
literature

a modicum
of unseen
movies

all discovered
from a past
previously hidden
by my
ignorance

they
are my
deliverance

as all
of my
todays

as well as
any destiny

are continually
lost
to me
