Dogs 2020

iii(1/4/2020)
the sun
is not always
our friend
in the desert
there is
no life
without
it's warmth
but the
heat
is unbearable
at times
so Faris
stays
in his cool
cave
living off
the food
and water
he has managed
to save
within
he would
forage
again tomorrow
today
he would watch
the shifting
shadows
the patterns
upon the
walls
and toward
sunset
a few shafts
of light
penetrating
the darkness
never
beyond
the solar
reach
glowing fingers
interspersed
with dust particles
stirred by his
movements
within
betraying
his presence
to the
Father Sol
he hopes
to venture out
later
to see
the cooler stars
appear
in the coming
night sky
maybe
to watch the moon
suffer the sun's
onslaught
for a change
at a
more temperate
distance
