inside interests
I guess

they seem
disappointed

bored
with me
already

if they
could see
my past
they might
be more
satisfied

I wanted
to see everything

to go everywhere

I found
the points
of interest
on each
map

and went
there

but after
awhile
I realized
that those points
held no interest
for me

what most
saw as amazing
seemed only
emptiness

in a
pop Zen
moment
I understood
that the only
emptiness
was me

there was
no place
to go

no thing
to see

landmarks
became
my lighthouses

warnings
to stay
away

who would
want to share
such a bleak
landscape?

no one

of course

but I
got the job
anyway
