Dogs 2015

EXILE
(11/29/15)

drifting
for days
with no
human contact

surrounded
by a cityful
of people

the circumstance
appears
a penal
sentence

at least
a purposed
choice

but these
things
just happen
without the effort
at intercourse

no one
really senses
the isolation
until after
the fact

then
the discomfort
of explaining
such absence
feels too much
to consider

remaining
alone
for a bit longer
seems the best
solution

eventually
someone else
will breach
the barrier

contact
is surely unavoidable
on this overpopulated
planet

surely

but as dusk
draws near
on another day
bereft
of conservation

one begins
to wonder

invisibility
is apparently not
such a far fetched
notion
after all
