Dogs 2014

PERIODIC HUMILITY
(2/2/14)

when
the world
becomes
too much
for me

when I
become
too much
for me

I like
to imagine
the other
planets

the asteroids

the comets

the sun

the entire
incredible
interwoven
solar system

the Milky Way

unimaginable
numbers
of galaxies

lesser organized
celestial
structures

trying to
wrap
my finite mind
around the infinity
of the universe

rather
than feeling
all alone
and isolated

I actually
derive
a warming comfort
from my insignificance
in the scope
of the cosmos

of course
most other times
the ego
rules

I see
the sky
but imagine
the stars
beneath
my feet
