TRANSLITERATION
(5/27/10)

our product
covers companies
worldwide
so I am exposed
to many languages
throughout
the course
of a day

thankfully
numbers
remain the same
allowing me to collect
hitherto unknown
character sets
for planting
upon the fertile ground
of translation
software

what
sprouts up
however
is not always
free of
weeds

modifiers
are misplaced
infinitives split
pronouns
perverted

if I
did not
already have
some idea
of the topic
referenced
I would
at times
be unenlightened
after my
English harvest

no different
probably
from speaking
everyday
any day
to people
of the same
language

out of context
most
conversations seem
an ugly mishmash
of acronyms
slang
and just plain
bad grammar

communication
seems the least
of intents

they apparently
wish to impress us
with their ability
to confuse
with subterfuge
inflating pseudo
esoteric egos

most days
I stay silent
smile and nod
before walking
away

"hello
person
of my
meeting

Pat
be name
carried
with they

we taste poorly
of your
mouth fruit"
