Dogs 2010

JUST LOSE IT
(6/28/10)

we have heard
that it is not
what we do
but how
we do it
that's important

great advice

unless
we happen
to be
rapists
terrorists
or axe murderers

morals
must always
be inflicted
upon those
with no
conscience
but taking joy
and finding purpose
in our work
seems
a noble
goal

focusing
on what is
in front of us
most certainly
the key

something is
always said
about the
here
and
the now

perhaps
some appropriate
consolations
for philosophers
but obviously
unsatisfactory
aphorisms
for those
shouldering most
of the daily
workload

we need more
to get us past
our inequitable
expenses of time

temporary
insanity
is probably
a more pragmatic
solution

just a little
disassociation
from the task
at hand

some
Tourette syndrome
of spastic release
to relieve
a bit
of the [pent-up]
pressure

a well placed
profanity
or sharpened
pencil
lends much
toward relaxing
our labors

gives us
a little freedom
to periodically
o p e n l y
display just
a small portion
of the manic
frustration
inherent
in every
day in
day out
endeavor

if we
continue
to suppress
such tendencies

well…

rapists
terrorists
axe murderers

there are
reasons
for these
outcomes

point
taken?
